Catuai coffee
Catuai is a Brazilian cross of Mundo Novo and Caturra, bred at the Instituto Agronômico de Campinas for compact growth and cherries that hold onto the branch in wind and rain.
It is grown across Central and South America wherever weather is a real risk to the harvest. The cup is dependable rather than dramatic — chocolate, nut, moderate acidity — and it responds noticeably well to careful processing.
